What it is

The Andrews Z302 is an O-ring gasket (Ø18 x 3 mm) that seals the hot surface ignitor where it mounts into the burner assembly on Andrews Ecoflo and HiFlo Evo water heaters. It forms the gas-tight joint around the ignitor body, preventing leakage at the mounting point. The gasket is a service item within the ignition unit and is normally renewed whenever the ignitor is removed or replaced.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The O-ring is hardened, flattened or brittle when the ignitor is removed
  • Visible splits, cracking or perishing on the gasket face
  • A smell of gas or a leak path detected around the ignitor mounting
  • Ignition faults recurring after the ignitor has been disturbed or refitted
  • The gasket is missing or has been crushed during a previous repair
