What it is
The Riello 3012174 is a flame-sensing (ionisation) probe fitted to the Riello RS range of gas burners. It confirms to the burner's control box that a flame is present once ignition has occurred; if it does not detect a flame, the control box stops the fuel supply.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Burner ignites then immediately locks out on flame failure
- Burner cycles on and off repeatedly
- Visible corrosion, pitting or a cracked ceramic insulator on the probe
