What it is
The Gledhill XG182 is an automatic by-pass valve used in Gledhill Accolade and related A-Class boiler and thermal store appliances. It regulates flow through the primary circuit, opening as differential pressure rises to maintain circulation when system demand falls. This protects the pump and heat exchanger from restricted flow and excessive temperature rise.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler or thermal store cycling or locking out on overheat
- Kettling, whistling or other noise from the primary circuit when heating demand drops
- Radiators heating when only hot water is called for
- Water weeping from the valve body or its connections
- Poor temperature control across the primary circuit
