What it is
The Gledhill XG142 is a 28mm three-port mid-position motorised valve used on Gledhill Boilermate appliances. It is a Danfoss valve supplied for SP models only. The valve diverts primary water between the heating circuit and the stored hot water, and can hold a mid-position so both are served at the same time.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No heating or hot water when the programmer calls for it
- Actuator motor runs but the valve spindle does not move
- Valve stuck in one position, giving heating only or hot water only
- Water weeping from the valve body or spindle
- Buzzing or humming from the actuator with no change in system output
