What it is
The Gledhill XG083 is a 22mm two-port motorised zone valve manufactured by Honeywell for Gledhill. It controls the flow of water through the heating or hot water circuit in response to signals from the programmer, thermostat or cylinder stat. This valve is specified for indirect systems and is used across the Gledhill Accolade and Stainless LITE appliance ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No heating or hot water in the zone controlled by the valve, even though the programmer and thermostat are calling
- The actuator head hums or runs continuously but the valve does not open or close
- The manual lever moves freely with no spring resistance, or will not return to its rest position
- Water weeping from the valve body, spindle or compression nuts
- Boiler fires but the affected circuit stays cold
