What it is
The Gledhill XB117 is a capillary control thermostat used on the Gledhill Boilermate II thermal store. It senses stored water temperature through a capillary probe and switches the heat source to hold the cylinder at its set temperature.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Stored hot water runs consistently too hot or too cold against the set temperature
- The boiler fails to fire when the cylinder calls for heat
- The boiler continues to run after the cylinder has reached temperature
- Hot water temperature at the taps fluctuates erratically
