What it is
The Gledhill XB080 is an 11 immersion heater intended for use in the Pulsacoil 2000 appliance family. It is supplied with an XB081 safety stat. The immersion heater provides the electrical heating element within the unit's stored water circuit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The cylinder fails to heat on the immersion circuit
- The safety stat trips repeatedly and will not reset
- Continuity testing shows an open circuit through the element
- Visible scale build-up, corrosion or blistering on the element sheath
- The element trips the circuit breaker or RCD when energised
