What it is
The Grant WBS05 is an access door rope seal for Grant Vortex ECO wall hung condensing boilers. It sits in the access door joint and provides a gas-tight seal between the door and the boiler body. The seal is a serviceable item and should be renewed when it becomes compressed, frayed or contaminated.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible fraying, flattening or hardening of the rope seal
- Soot or condensate staining around the access door joint
- Flue gas smell or draught at the access door while the boiler is running
- Combustion readings that drift or fail to meet the manufacturer's figures
- The access door is difficult to refit or the seal no longer sits proud in its groove
