What it is
The VPSC501BK is a 45A double pole plate switch from the Scolmore Click Deco range, a decorative metal wiring accessory line in a Victorian square edge design. It carries a red neon indicator that lights when the switch is on, and is rated for use as an isolator on high-load fixed circuits such as cookers, hobs, or electric showers.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Neon indicator no longer illuminates when switched on
- Switch feels loose or wobbly in the wall plate
- Visible arcing, scorch marks, or a burning smell around the switch
- Switch fails to reliably make or break the circuit
- Cracked or discoloured plate or insert
Before you order
- Isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before removing the old switch
- Confirm your existing back box is at least 35mm deep
- Match the satin chrome finish and black insert to the rest of your installation
- Fixed wiring work should be carried out or certified by a competent, Part P registered electrician
