What it is
The VBS146 is Grant's control thermostat, adjustable across a 50-75°C range. It regulates the boiler's day-to-day operating temperature, switching the burner on and off to hold the water temperature at the set point.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler runs hotter or cooler than the temperature set
- The burner short-cycles or will not reach temperature
- The dial no longer turns smoothly or feels loose
- No response when the set temperature is changed
Before you order
- Confirm VBS146 (or its equivalents TPBS34 / ZINDCSTAT / 541179) matches the part fitted to your boiler
- Isolate electrical power to the boiler before removing the old thermostat
- Check which terminals your existing thermostat uses (2 or 3) before wiring the replacement
