What it is
The Vaillant 0020038679 is a sealing gasket kit supplied by Vaillant for use on its water heating appliances. It provides the sealing element at a joint or connection point, preventing water from escaping once the assembly is tightened down. Gaskets of this type are consumable items: they are compressed on assembly and are normally renewed whenever the joint is opened.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the joint the gasket seals
- Visible hardening, flattening or cracking of the gasket material
- Scale or corrosion deposits around the sealing face
- Staining or damp patches beneath the appliance
- A joint that will not seal after being reassembled
Before you order
- Confirm the part number 0020038679 against your appliance's parts list or serial number data.
- Check that the kit covers the joint you are working on, as gasket kits can serve more than one connection point.
- This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
