What it is
This is a UCP-branded gas valve, sold as a compatible replacement for the original Honeywell V4600A 1130U gas valve (Ideal part 079756), which Honeywell/Ideal have discontinued. It opens to allow gas to flow to the pilot and main burner when signalled by the boiler's controls.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to ignite, or the burner will not stay lit
- The gas valve fails to open or close on demand from the controls
- A gas smell near the valve, or a failed tightness/leak test
- Erratic burner modulation or lockouts traced to the gas valve
