What it is
The ELECTRODE (FORWARD LIGHTING) is a Nuway ignition electrode, supplied under part number U90375H. It is fitted to Nuway gas burners in the NGN range, where it provides the ignition spark at the forward lighting position of the burner. The electrode forms part of the burner's lighting sequence and is replaced as a single component.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fails to light, or lights only intermittently, on a call for heat.
- No spark is visible at the forward lighting position when the burner is started.
- The burner repeatedly locks out during the ignition sequence.
- The electrode tip shows erosion, heavy carbon build-up or a distorted gap.
- The ceramic insulator is cracked, chipped or showing signs of tracking.

- Confirm the burner model and variant against the fit list, as NGN7 and NGN8 are supplied in single and three phase versions with on/off or high/low control.
- Check the existing electrode position and mounting arrangement before removal so the replacement can be set the same way.
- Verify the part number U90375H matches the marking or documentation for the electrode being replaced.
- Inspect the ignition lead and burner earth path at the same time, as poor connections can mimic electrode failure.
