What it is
Electrodes manufactured by Nuway, supplied as the NOL5-8 electrode set for Nuway oil burners. They form the ignition side of the burner, producing the spark that lights the oil and air mixture at the nozzle. This part carries the manufacturer reference U90362C.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner fires intermittently or fails to light, with no spark at the nozzle
- Visible cracking, chipping or erosion of the electrode ceramic insulation
- Electrode tips are burnt back, pitted or heavily carbonised
- Spark tracks to earth via a cracked insulator rather than arcing across the tips
- Lockout on start-up despite oil delivery and a clean nozzle being present

- Check the existing electrodes for the U90362C marking where legible
- Inspect the electrode insulators and tips for damage before ordering, so the fault is not elsewhere on the ignition circuit
