What it is
The Totalhome mechanical thermostat is a dial-operated room thermostat from the Honeywell Total Home range. It senses the air temperature in the room and opens or closes the heating circuit at the set point, so the boiler or zone valve responds to actual room conditions rather than running continuously. It is a direct replacement item for the thermostat position on Total Home installations.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The heating stays on when the dial is turned down to its lowest setting
- The boiler does not fire when the dial is turned up and the room is cold
- The dial feels loose, stiff or fails to click at the set point
- Room temperature drifts well above or below the figure shown on the dial
- The thermostat clicks audibly but there is no corresponding response from the heating circuit
