What it is
The Towel Rail Element + Tee & Plug 400W is a 400W electric heating element for towel rails, listed under the Special Offers brand. It provides the heat source for a towel rail that is warmed electrically rather than from the central heating circuit. The element is supplied together with a tee and plug.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The towel rail stays cold when the element is switched on
- The element trips the RCD or MCB when it is powered up
- Heating is intermittent or uneven across the rail
- Corrosion, damp or staining around the element head
- The element head is loose, cracked or visibly damaged
Before you order
- Confirm the towel rail requires a 400W element and not a different wattage
- Check the connection point on the rail and that the supplied tee and plug suit the installation
- Check the condition of the existing element and its wiring before removal
