What it is
A 6 bar pressure relief valve (PRV) made for the Alpha CB, CD and Intec boiler range, part number 1.018091. It opens proportionally as system pressure rises, releasing water to stop the pressure reaching a level that could damage the boiler or expansion vessel.

- Water dripping or weeping continuously from the discharge pipe
- Boiler losing pressure repeatedly and needing regular repressurising
- Valve fails to reseat fully after opening
- Visible corrosion, scale or a seized handle on the valve body
