What it is
A 6ft (1830mm) aluminium sight tube made by Atkinson Equipment for their Tankmaster sight gauge system, part number TM4500. Fitted to the Tankmaster body (sold separately), it lets an oil tank's fuel level be read visually: operating the pull-to-read valve lets fuel rise in the tube to the same level as the tank's contents.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Tube cracked, cloudy or too discoloured to read the fuel level
- Shield bent or no longer protecting the tube
- Fuel level reading appears stuck or inconsistent with known tank contents

- Measure the required tube length against your tank before ordering
- Confirm the Tankmaster body and pull-to-read valve are already fitted, as the tube does not include these
- Shut the pull-to-read valve before replacing the tube
