What it is
The Atkinson TM4480 is a 4ft 6in (1370mm) clear UPVC sight tube fitted to the Atkinson TankMaster oil tank gauge body, letting you check the fuel level in a domestic oil storage tank by pulling the float indicator up the tube. It's the tube-only spare for the TankMaster's pull-to-read gauge system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Tube has yellowed, clouded or discoloured so the fuel level is hard to read
- Tube is cracked, split or leaking at a fitting
- Float or indicator inside the tube sticks or won't move freely
- Fuel staining visible down the outside of the tank near the gauge

- Check the TankMaster gauge body itself is sound; a discoloured tube alone doesn't mean the whole gauge needs replacing
