What it is
The Titanium 27 is an immersion heater supplied together with a thermostat as a packet. The element is Incoloy-sheathed and the part is intended for vented immersion heater installations, where it heats the stored water in the cylinder. It is a service item for replacing a failed or scaled immersion heater in a vented hot water cylinder.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No hot water from the cylinder even though the immersion heater is switched on
- The immersion heater trips the RCD or MCB when energised
- Visible corrosion, heavy scale build-up or a split in the element sheath
- Water runs too hot or too cold, indicating a failed thermostat
- Water weeping from the immersion boss or around the element head
