What it is
The Copper 36 Immersion Heater & Stat is a screw-in immersion heater assembly for vented hot water cylinders, manufactured under the Special Offers range. It combines a copper heating element with an integral thermostat, so cylinder water temperature can be set and controlled at the heater head.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The cylinder no longer reaches temperature, or the water runs cold after the usual heating period
- The thermostat fails to switch off, leaving the water excessively hot or tripping the cylinder overheat cut-out
- The heater head is corroded, scaled or weeping around the flange
- The element has blown, causing the circuit to trip or the immersion heater fuse to fail
- Continuity testing across the element terminals shows an open circuit
