What it is
The Nuway T97609T is a 7mm HT (high-tension) ignition cable, supplied as a 10m coil under Nuway's own "36/38" designation, used to carry the ignition transformer's high-voltage output to the electrodes on an oil burner.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Burner won't ignite, or ignition is intermittent
- Visible cracking, perishing or scorching on the cable insulation
- Arcing or tracking visible along the cable length rather than at the electrode tips
- Cable insulation feels brittle or has hardened with age and heat
