What it is
A 450mm gas-appliance thermocouple with an M10 tip thread, cross-referenced to the Baxi Bermuda back boiler and fire range. The same 450mm universal thermocouple is also used on the Baxi 372 and Baxi 572, and on Thorn M appliances.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Pilot light won't stay alight, or goes out as soon as the control knob is released
- The pilot button needs holding in for longer than normal before the flame stays lit
- Visible corrosion, discolouration or a kinked lead on the probe
- The gas valve won't open even though the pilot is burning correctly

- Isolate the gas supply before removing the old thermocouple
- Have the replacement fitted and tested by a Gas Safe registered engineer
