What it is
A 600mm interrupted-type thermocouple (the pilot circuit is broken between the thermocouple and the gas valve's power pack), stocked as a cross-reference for the Glow-worm CH501/502 and Fuelsaver 15CF/RS boilers, and used across the wider Glow-worm Fuelsaver MK2 range (30, 40, 50, 60 and 75, in B, BR, C and R variants).
Signs this part needs replacing
- Pilot light won't stay alight, or goes out as soon as the control knob is released
- The pilot button needs holding in for longer than normal before the flame stays lit
- Boiler locks out or won't fire even though the pilot is burning correctly
- Visible corrosion, discolouration or damage to the interrupter connector
