What it is
The Altecnic 1/2 MxF Brass Flow Limiter is an inline brass restrictor fitting that holds the flow through a circuit to 8 litres per minute. It belongs to the Altecnic flow regulation range and is used to balance or limit water flow on heating and hot water installations. The fitting has a white finish and connects by a 1/2 inch male thread to a 1/2 inch female thread.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Flow at the outlet has fallen below or become erratic against the intended 8 litres per minute
- The fitting no longer holds the set flow rate, allowing excess flow through the circuit
- Weeping or dripping at the threaded joints
- Whistling or rushing noise at the fitting under normal flow
- Visible corrosion, cracking or thread damage on the brass body
Before you order
- Confirm the connection size and thread gender match the pipework: 1/2 inch male x female
- Check that 8 litres per minute is the flow rate required for the circuit
- Confirm the installation falls within the Altecnic flow regulation range
- Check there is enough access to make and remake the threaded joints
