What it is
The Altecnic 8 Litre Stainless Steel Expansion Vessel is a pressure vessel used within boiler systems to absorb the expansion of heated water in a sealed heating circuit. It carries part number SSV8C and is supplied under the Altecnic Expansion Vessels model range. The vessel provides a stainless steel body with an 8 litre capacity, sized for use in domestic and light commercial heating installations.
Signs this part needs replacing
- System pressure rises quickly once the heating is running and may reach the pressure relief valve setting
- Water is discharged from the pressure relief valve during normal operation
- The pressure gauge reading drops or fluctuates repeatedly, requiring frequent topping up
- The boiler locks out or displays a pressure-related fault
- The vessel feels heavy or waterlogged when compared with its usual weight
Before you order
- Confirm the installed vessel is an Altecnic expansion vessel and that a stainless steel unit is appropriate for the system
- Check that an 8 litre capacity matches the system volume and the appliance manufacturer's requirements
- Review the appliance manufacturer's instructions for the correct charge pressure and installation position before fitting
- Verify the part number SSV8C against the existing component or the appliance documentation
