What it is

The Salus SQ610RF is a wireless room thermostat from the Quantum range. It measures the air temperature in the room where it is mounted and sends a switching signal over radio frequency to a receiver connected to the heating circuit, so the boiler or underfloor heating zone is called for heat only when the room falls below the set point. Because the link between thermostat and receiver is wireless, the unit can be sited away from the wiring centre, in the room that best represents the occupied temperature.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The room never reaches the temperature set on the thermostat, or overshoots it consistently.
  • The thermostat display is blank, dim or unresponsive to button presses.
  • The boiler or zone does not fire when heat is demanded from the thermostat.
  • The RF link between thermostat and receiver drops out repeatedly, leaving the heating stuck on or off.
  • Reported room temperature drifts noticeably away from a known accurate thermometer.

Before you order

  • Confirm the existing receiver and thermostat are the Quantum RF pairing, as the thermostat must communicate with a matching receiver.
  • Note the part number on the existing thermostat or its packaging so the correct variant is supplied.
  • Check the wiring at the receiver end before fitting, since a lost RF link is sometimes a receiver or power fault rather than a thermostat fault.
