What it is
A genuine Meynell/Mira thermostatic sleeve cartridge, part number SPSL0006J. Fitted with three O-rings, it is the temperature-control core of the valve, blending hot and cold water to a set temperature.

- Shower won't hold or reach the set temperature
- Stiff or sticking temperature control
- Water surges hot or cold, or cuts out
- Leaking from the temperature control despite new seals
Before you order
- Match the part number SPSL0006J printed on your existing cartridge
- Isolate the water supply before removing the valve
- Apply a thin coat of plumbing grease to all O-rings before fitting; tighten threads but do not overtighten
- If only the seals are worn, seal kit SPSK0319.1J may resolve the fault without a full cartridge
