What it is
The RADIANT is a white radiant panel manufactured by Robinson Willey for use in gas fires. It forms part of the radiant and reflector assembly within the appliance, where the panel is heated by the burner flame and re-radiates that heat into the room. The part carries the manufacturer reference SP995971.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, chipping or breakage across the radiant face
- Sections of the radiant surface flaking or crumbling away
- Discolouration or distortion beyond normal heat staining, with the panel no longer sitting correctly in its support
- Reduced radiant output from the fire with the burner running normally
- Soot tracking or uneven glowing across the panel surface
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and that it is one of the Firegem VISA 2 variants listed above
- Check the existing radiant for the manufacturer part number and compare it with SP995971
- Inspect the radiant supports and retaining clips at the same time, as these are commonly disturbed during removal
- Isolate the gas supply and follow the appliance manufacturer's instructions before dismantling the fire
