What it is

The Glow-worm SK2674 thermocouple is a safety component for Glow-worm gas boilers. It sits in the pilot flame and generates a small voltage that holds the gas valve open. If the pilot flame goes out, the thermocouple stops generating voltage and the gas valve closes.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Pilot flame will not stay alight when the control knob is released.
  • Boiler repeatedly locks out or shuts down shortly after ignition.
  • The pilot flame goes out during normal operation.
  • No heating or hot water because the gas valve does not stay open.
