What it is
The Hager SEL96T, from Hager's Ashley range, is a bayonet cap (BC) batten lampholder for wall- or ceiling-mounted light fittings. It has 2 terminals in the body and 3 terminals plus earth in the base, and automatically disconnects power at the contacts when the lamp is removed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Lamp flickers or won't stay lit even with a known-good bulb
- Scorching, discolouration or melting visible around the lampholder body
- Bayonet plungers no longer grip the bulb securely
- Cracked or loose base plate at the ceiling/wall rose
