What it is
The SCA150150 is a plate heat exchanger manufactured by Ravenheat for use in its gas boiler range. It transfers heat between the primary circuit and the domestic hot water circuit, heating mains water as it passes through the plates. It is fitted across a number of Ravenheat CS, HE and WH models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water runs hot then cold, or fluctuates at the tap
- Reduced hot water flow rate compared with normal operation
- Hot water temperature drops when a second outlet is opened
- Boiler locks out or overheats during a hot water draw
- Water weeping from the plate pack or its connections
