Baxi Ignition Ionisation Electrode Avanta Plus System 18S S62743

The Baxi S62743 is an ignition and ionisation electrode used in Baxi Avanta and Avanta Plus appliances. It sits in the combustion circuit, providing the spark that lights the burner and then sensing the flame so the control board can confirm combustion has been established. It is supplied as a single electrode.

• The boiler attempts to light but locks out without the burner firing.
• Repeated ignition attempts followed by a fault code on the display.
• The burner lights and then shuts down shortly afterwards because the flame is not detected.
• Visible damage to the electrode tip, ceramic insulator or lead connection.
• Intermittent lockouts that clear on reset but return.

• Check the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list to confirm the electrode is correct for your boiler.
• Confirm the part number on the existing electrode or in the appliance documentation, as the previous number 720481201 may be marked on older stock.
• Inspect the electrode gasket or seal at the same time, as it is normally disturbed when the electrode is removed.
• This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
