What it is
The fan assembly is a combustion fan unit supplied by Glow-worm for use in its Compact range of gas boilers. It draws flue gases through the heat exchanger and pushes them to the flue outlet, and its speed is regulated to match the appliance's combustion requirements. This part carries the manufacturer code S457077 and replaces the earlier code 457077.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or fails to ignite, with a fan or air pressure related fault code logged.
- The fan is noisy in operation, with rumbling, screeching or scraping from the fan housing.
- The fan does not spin up on a call for heat, or spins intermittently.
- Visible damage, contamination or stiffness when the impeller is turned by hand.
- Repeated flame failure or overheat trips traced to poor flue gas movement.

- Check the existing fan's part number, as earlier build appliances may carry code 457077.
