What it is
The Glow-worm S451477 is a pilot assembly (Oxypilot) used to provide the standing flame that ignites the main burner on Glow-worm back boiler units. It sits in the combustion area of the appliance and carries the pilot injector, electrode and flame sensing arrangement that keeps the gas valve open while the pilot is proven. This is a gas-carrying component and is supplied as a direct replacement for the original assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The pilot flame will not light, or goes out as soon as the control knob is released.
- A weak, yellow or lifting pilot flame instead of a steady blue flame.
- No spark at the electrode, or repeated ignition attempts with no flame established.
- Sooting or discolouration around the pilot and burner area.
- The pilot drops out during normal running, causing the appliance to lock out.
