What it is
The Glow-worm S1024500 is an automatic de-aerator, also described as an automatic air vent, forming part of the hydraulic group on Glow-worm heating appliances. It sits on the water circuit and continuously releases air that collects in the system, so the pump and heat exchanger are not left running against an air pocket. The unit is supplied as a single piece and carries a 1 year manufacturer guarantee.

- Air continues to collect in the system and radiators need bleeding repeatedly
- Kettling, gurgling or rushing water noise from the boiler on start-up
- Water weeping or dripping from the vent body or its cap
- The vent cap no longer seals and the pin does not reseat after venting
- The boiler locks out or the pump runs dry because air is not being cleared
