What it is
The Glow-worm Automatic Air Vent is a de-aerator fitted to Glow-worm GW series boilers and compatible Saunier Duval Themaclassic models. It releases trapped air from the appliance circuit automatically, which keeps water circulation even and reduces air-related noise. This part replaces code 1005600.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the vent body or cap
- Scale or corrosion build-up around the vent, preventing it from sealing
- Persistent gurgling or air noise in the boiler after venting
- Radiators needing repeated bleeding, or cold spots at the top of radiators
- The vent cap remaining wet during normal running
Before you order
- Check the boiler model against the Fits list above, as the vent is listed for specific GW and Themaclassic variants
- Note the code 1005600 reference if you are matching against an existing part
- Isolate and drain or vent the appliance circuit before removing the old air vent
