EOGB IRD1010 Detector (End On)

The IRD1010 Detector (end on) is a detector unit supplied by EOGB for use within the EOGB, Honeywell and Satronic boiler control family. It is specified in the end-on configuration, so the sensing face is presented along the axis of the fitting rather than at an angle. It forms part of the boiler's monitoring circuit, where the detector signal is used by the control to confirm the operating state of the burner.

• The burner attempts ignition, establishes a flame, but the control still shuts down or locks out.
• The flame or detector signal is lost during running, causing the boiler to drop out and require a reset.
• Detection is intermittent, with the appliance running correctly on some cycles and failing on others.
• Repeated lockouts with no other fault found in the ignition or gas side of the appliance.

• Confirm the detector fitted to the appliance is marked IRD1010 and is the end-on variant.
• Check that the burner control on the appliance falls within the EOGB, Honeywell or Satronic range listed.
• Compare the removed detector with the replacement to confirm the mounting arrangement and body form match.
• Check the detector face and its housing for contamination or damage before assuming the detector itself has failed.
