What it is

The pilot tube kit is a Johnson & Starley spare supplied under part number S00867. It carries gas to the pilot assembly on Hispec J32 warm air units fitted with a SIT valve. The kit is used when the pilot feed pipe is damaged, blocked or kinked and the pilot flame can no longer be sustained reliably.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The pilot flame will not stay lit after the button is released.
  • The pilot flame is weak, yellow or unstable instead of a steady blue flame.
  • The pilot flame extinguishes as the main burner lights.
  • The pilot tube is visibly kinked, crushed, cracked or corroded.
  • The tube is blocked or restricted, so gas flow to the pilot is poor.
