What it is
A self-adhesive closure plate tape used to form an air-tight seal on the closure plates of gas fires, convector heaters, decorative fuel-effect gas appliances and fire/back boilers. It meets British Gas Specification PRS10 Issue 2.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Old closure plate tape has dried out, cracked or lost its grip
- Visible gaps or lifting at the closure plate seal
- Staining or sooting around the closure plate suggesting the seal has failed
- Tape brittle or discoloured after prolonged heat exposure

- Confirm the closure plate seal you're replacing calls for a PRS10-spec tape
- Clean and dry the closure plate surface before applying
- Check you have enough length to cover the full closure plate perimeter with overlap
