What it is
The Niglon RG6 is a black rubber gasket used with galvanised steel conduit boxes. It seals the box to protect electrical conductors from mechanical and electrical damage and helps maintain earthing continuity for the fitting.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gasket has perished, cracked, or gone hard and brittle
- Box lid no longer seals flush, leaving a gap at the rim
- Signs of water ingress or corrosion inside the conduit box
- Gasket has compressed or deformed and no longer forms a seal when the lid is refitted
Before you order
- Confirm the 68mm diameter matches your existing galvanised conduit box
- Isolate the circuit before opening the conduit box
- Check whether you need a full box or just the replacement gasket
