What it is

Regin Fumax smoke pellets are an encapsulated flue testing consumable manufactured by Regin. Each pellet produces an estimated 5 cubic metres of smoke at a density suited to flue testing, and burns for approximately 30 seconds. The pellets are encapsulated for ease of use and disposal and are BS5440 Part 1 compliant.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Pellets crumble or feel damp when taken out of the packaging
  • A pellet fails to ignite, or burns out before any smoke is visible
  • Smoke produced is thin and disperses before it reaches the flue termination
  • Results are inconsistent between pellets from the same pack
  • A flue test is inconclusive and has to be repeated

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance's flue test procedure calls for a smoke pellet test
  • Check the test method required for the flue or appliance opening being worked on
  • Keep pellets dry before use, as damp pellets give unreliable smoke density
  • Have the appliance model and GC number to hand when ordering
