What it is
The RAM1.T is a genuine Siemens mechanical cylinder/pipe thermostat with a bi-metallic sensing element, fitted with a tamperproof cover to prevent the setting being altered by unauthorised users. It switches an electrical circuit as the sensed temperature crosses the set point.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water temperature no longer matches the dial setting
- Thermostat fails to switch off, causing overheating
- Cracked or damaged tamperproof cover exposing the setting dial
- No click felt or heard when the dial is turned through the set point
