What it is
A low-pressure regulator made by Continental for 4.5kg butane gas cylinders (such as Calor Butane), reducing cylinder pressure to a steady 29mbar for the appliance. This variant has an integral pressure gauge fitted to the body so cylinder pressure can be checked at a glance.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gauge needle doesn't move, or reads zero, with a full cylinder connected
- Hissing sound or smell of gas at the regulator body or cylinder connection
- Appliance flame is weak, yellow, or won't light despite adequate gas in the cylinder
- Visible cracking, perishing or corrosion on the regulator body
Before you order
- Check the connection is the 21.8mm left-hand butane thread, not the propane Clip-On type
- Confirm your appliance's gas consumption is within the 1.5kg/hr capacity
- Isolate and disconnect the gas supply before fitting, and leak-test the new connection once fitted
