What it is

The Altecnic 12 litre Flow Through Potable Water Vessel is an expansion vessel intended for potable water systems, where water passes through the vessel rather than sitting static within it. It forms part of the Altecnic expansion vessel range and absorbs expansion and pressure variation in a potable water installation. The vessel is supplied under part number PVA12G.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water discharging continuously from the expansion relief valve
  • System pressure rising and falling more than normal during heating or draw-off cycles
  • The vessel feels heavy or full of water when compared with a correctly charged unit
  • Visible corrosion, weeping or damp patches on the vessel shell or connections
  • Knocking or banging in the pipework as pressure changes

Before you order

  • Confirm the existing vessel's capacity matches 12 litres and that a flow through potable water type is required
  • Check that the appliance or system is listed against the Altecnic expansion vessel range
  • Verify there is adequate space and access at the mounting position before removal of the old vessel
  • Isolate, depressurise and drain the relevant section of the system before fitting
