What it is
The Powermax P774 is a spark electrode supplied complete with its gasket. It is a Powermax component intended for the ignition circuit of the Powermax 135, 140 and 155 boiler families, and is specified for appliances from serial number 19001 onwards. The electrode delivers the spark that lights the burner, while the gasket seals the mounting point through the combustion chamber.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to ignite and locks out on repeated attempts
- No spark is visible at the electrode during an ignition attempt
- The electrode tip or its insulation is cracked, eroded or heavily carboned
- The gasket is perished, brittle or shows signs of leakage at the mounting point
- Ignition is intermittent, with the burner lighting only on some attempts

- Confirm the appliance serial number is 19001 or later, as earlier build appliances use a different electrode
- Check the model against the fitment list, including FOV, FSS, CP and P variants
- Inspect the electrode mounting and gasket seating area for corrosion or damage before fitting
- Verify the existing electrode part number where it is still legible
