What it is
The Powermax P507 main burner gasket is a sealing component for the main burner assembly on Powermax gas boilers. It is listed as GASKET - MAIN BURNER and sits within the gas boiler spares range for the Powermax appliance family. Its function is to seal the joint at the main burner, preventing combustion products and gas from escaping past the mating faces.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible splitting, cracking or hardening of the gasket material
- Staining or soot tracking around the burner joint indicating a poor seal
- Gasket compressed flat or bonded to the mating face on removal
- Combustion readings or flame picture affected by leakage at the burner joint
- Gasket replaced as a matter of course whenever the main burner is disturbed
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model matches one of the listed Powermax appliances
- Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the model range covered
- Compare the existing gasket shape and fixing holes with the P507 part before fitting
- Verify the burner assembly has not been superseded on your particular appliance variant
