The Onyx 1000L red heating vessel is a 1.5 bar expansion vessel from the Onyx expansion vessel range. It is installed on heating systems to absorb the expansion of heated water and limit the pressure rise as system temperature increases. The vessel is supplied in a red casing with a 1000 litre nominal capacity, for boiler and heating system applications.

• System pressure rises sharply when the heating is on and discharges at the pressure relief valve
• Pressure falls repeatedly and the system needs frequent topping up
• Water escaping from the air valve or charging point on the vessel
• Visible corrosion, staining or water tracking on the vessel shell
• Large pressure swings between hot and cold system conditions, suggesting the vessel is no longer accepting expansion

• Confirm the required capacity and pressure rating match the vessel being replaced
• Check the connection size and thread type at the system pipework
• Confirm the available floor or plant room space is sufficient for a 1000L vessel
