What it is
The NVx range from Powrmatic Ltd (Ilminster, Somerset) are gas-fired, fan-circulation warm air unit heaters with a closed combustion circuit, covering heat outputs from 10kW to 140kW for commercial and industrial premises. This fan is the internal exhaust/combustion fan, mounted downstream of the heat exchanger, that evacuates the products of combustion and draws in air for combustion on the NVx90-140 models. On start-up the exhaust fan runs first, and only once sufficient airflow is proved by the air pressure switch does ignition proceed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Exhaust fan fails to run, preventing the burner from proving airflow and lighting
- Unusual noise, vibration or bearing wear from the fan
- Appliance locks out at the air pressure switch check

- Confirm your heater model (NVx90, NVx120 or NVx140) before ordering - the NVx10-50 and NVx60-75 use different exhaust fans
- Isolate the electrical supply and close the gas service valve before servicing
