What it is
The Arleigh NS202/1 is a Widney thermocouple for gas fires that use a pilot flame. Mounted at the pilot assembly, it produces a small voltage while the pilot is burning, which holds the gas valve open. If the pilot is extinguished the signal stops and the valve shuts off the gas supply.
